Forum Web Part for SharePoint

People have been requesting a better discussion forum functionality than the one in SharePoint by default. I took that request and made it into a new personal project of mine.

Currently the forum looks like any forum you see on the web, but it's using- and is based entirely on SharePoint and the SharePoint database (no need for additional SQL setups etc).

I can only give you a preview of how it looks so far, there's still some issues to take care of before the first beta will be released for those interested in testing it out.

The Forum WebPart supports theming and therefore you can simply design your own theme, or use a built-in theme in order to modify the look and feel to adjust itself to your SharePoint site.

now I see why you're blogging-interval has slowed down the last couple of weeks ;) awesome looking forum wp. havn't seen anyone make it for the 2007/3.0 vesions yet. would be nice to try it out. will it be freely availible or need to purchase a license when its done? Just curious :) keep it up

Hi guys, I'm glad you like it. I'll be sure to let you know when it's good enough to be tested. Right now it's working, but needs some major adjustments in order to cover some current issues. As for licensing or distributing freely I havn't made any desicions. But for now the source code is kept locked since it's very crappy until I get some enhancements ;) Keep up the comments :)

Tack för att jag fick kika på den Tobbe, den funkar fint. Behöver fixas lite med new-posts, reply och sånt men annars funkar den ju smutt. har du gjort någon load-test om det finns t.ex 20 000 inlägg och/eller 200 samtidiga användare?

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback :) I'm trying to get as much done on it as possible - but you know how it is when one's busy with other things :) Hopefully it'll be released (beta) before I go to Egypt in May! Stay tuned.

Hi Mohammad, At the moment you need to be logged in in order to be able to use the forum. It will ofcourse be possible to use as an anonymous reader aswell - perhaps also anonymous posts. Thanks for all the feedback guys :)
